Walls, floors, roofs of hundreds of houses, reduced to rubble by the earthquake, are picked up and taken away.
Wall of walls questions the fate of the demolition waste caused by the earthquake and proposes to find a new function for this material.
The waste is collected and used as filling for the gabions, large wire mesh boxes that are piled one on top of the other. Gabions are self-supporting with no need of foundations, thanks to the weight of the waste and the containment of the mesh.
Wall of walls proposes a space for encounter and interaction: niches, bleachers, platforms are excavated in the volume of the walls. The gabion module allows endless spatial, chromatic and typologial declines that adapt to any type of environment.
